About this role in the team:

We are looking for a BSA/AML Compliance Specialist to join BVNK’s U.S. Compliance team. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this role supports the hands-on execution and continued improvement of our U.S. financial crime compliance program. You will work across customer due diligence, transaction investigations, regulatory reporting, and policy development, partnering with global Compliance and U.S. business teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, takes initiative, works autonomously, and demonstrates the resourcefulness and sound judgment needed to navigate complex challenges, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:
  • Support day-to-day administration of U.S. BSA/AML and sanctions compliance controls, including maintaining procedures and supporting records.
  • Draft and update BSA/AML policies, procedures, risk assessments, and control documentation for review and approval.
  • Review transaction monitoring alerts, investigate unusual activity, document findings, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Prepare suspicious activity investigation summaries and SAR narratives; support timely SAR filings and related recordkeeping in accordance with internal approval processes.
  • Review customer onboarding, KYC/KYB, beneficial ownership, CDD/EDD, and periodic review materials; identify gaps and recommend risk-based actions.
  • Assist with regulatory reports and filings, including FinCEN reporting, NMLS filings, and MSB Call Reports, as applicable.
  • Support regulatory examinations, independent reviews, banking partner requests, and consumer complaint investigations and responses.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Operations, Product, and Commercial teams to resolve questions and improve workflows.
  • Monitor relevant developments in U.S. money transmission, payments, sanctions, and digital-asset financial crime risks.
What we need from you:
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on BSA/AML, financial crime investigations, or related compliance experience in banking, payments, MSBs, or fintech.
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML, FinCEN requirements, OFAC sanctions, and risk-based customer due diligence.
  • Experience conducting transaction investigations and drafting clear, defensible SAR narratives or investigative memoranda.
  • Experience reviewing KYC/KYB, CDD/EDD, and customer risk information.
  • Strong written communication, sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to organize multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned matters and escalate decisions requiring compliance leadership approval.
  • Preferred: exposure to U.S. money transmitter regulation, NMLS reporting, stablecoins/digital assets, blockchain analytics, or cross-border payments.
What you can expect from us:
  • Fair and competitive salary at every stage of your growth
  • Flexible working hours, with hybrid working at its heart
  • A culture built on passionate, growth-minded people
  • A flexible approach to holiday
  • Opportunities to travel to our offices around the world
  • An open and creative environment where you can help us define the future of BVNK, its culture, and its opportunity sets
At BVNK, we are focused on building a diverse and inclusive team. While you may not meet all of our requirements, we’d encourage you to apply if you meet the majority of our expectations. You may be a great fit for this role or another role in our team.
